>> regardless of where it comes ashore, there is a live look now, mississippi and louisiana are the risk of significant damage. let us go live to new orleans. >> good afternoon. we are starting to see the wind pick up and a bit of rain here in new orleans. tropical storm isaacs' still about 80 miles off the coast. it is just shy of hurricane status. is expected to hit new orleans to night. >> tropical storm isaac is moving in with its high set on louisiana. >> i am nervous, very nervous. >> families are packing up and getting out. >> everybody is nervous. >> bars and restaurants in the french quarter are boarded up. >> you never know.mississippi or under mandatory evacuation. the biggest concern is that isaac is moving very slowly.
>> as this moves onshore, it will bring tremendous amounts of rain. >> may be locally up to 20 inches. >> that could lead to sev flooding. >> the door flew past me. glass was flying. >> in burgundy shelters are stocking up on food and supplies. what now is not the time to business official warnings. you need to take this seriously. >> this comes on the seven year anniversary of hurricane katrina. the army corps of engineers is confident the levy will hold. but some catenakatrina's survivors are not sticking around to find out. >> hurricane watches and warnings across 300 miles of the gulf coast. live in new orleans. back to you. >> thank you. 87 stormwatch team tracking the storm. adam caskey here the latest.
>> i will have the latest, the very latest on isaac. right now it is 176 miles southeast of louisiana. it is moving 70 miles per hour. 4 miles per hour shy of being a hurricane. 83 right now in the district. 75 in manassas. we are breaking the 80 the great barrier in frederick. here is a forecast. we will be in the upper 80s. it is going to be warm. however, our humidity is dropping as we speak outside. we have gotten rid of the morning rain for the most part. here is the trouble for casttravel forecast. more on isaacs' behapast coming
up. >> remember to stay with abc 74 continuing coverage of isaac. you will find an interactive map online at a wjla.com. >> and not to the developing story out of baltimore. 15-year-old will be charged as an adult for shooting inside perry hall high school. one student was seriously injured in the attack. >> please just wrapped up a press conference. the they have released the identity of the suspect. they say robert wayne gladden is now facing charges of tree he opened fire inside perry hall high school. they say monday morning he brought to school and shotgun. and he had a bottle of vodka inside his backpack. he went to his first few glasses and was heading to lunch when he placed the backpack with the gun
inside in a back room adjacent to the cafeteria where authorities in the shooting took place. thiessen there was some sort of incident inside the cafeteria. >> we know he went to the bathroom and assembled that weapon. he placed that weapon inside his garments his shirt and trousers. and the weapon was 34 inches in length approximately. he entered the cafeteria, pulled the shotgun from his clothing. it was at that moment that the counselor saw this activity, as he was pulling it out of his clothing, and immediately began to rush him. that was a school guidance counselor. one student was struck and remains in critical condition. the suspect is undergoing a mental evaluation. so far, police are not releasing
any more information about a motive. the suspect's father and mother is home. they say that the stepfather was also arrested and is facing several charges. tion is still ongoing. we understand students returned to school this morning. this story -- we will continue to follow. reporting live brianne carter, abc 7 news. >> for other developing story the funeral for morris. let us take a look inside woodstream chruch. he was killed in a police chased one week ago. john gonzalez joins us now. >> when the casket entered the church there was an incredible silence. hundreds of officers. this is the program headed out today inside. number of photos of the
officer's life. the printer does county fire department raised a massive united states flag inside of the church here in mitchelville. as hundreds of police officers filed in. newschannel 7 captured the procession as they arrived. >> i want to talk about all the good things that went right. that is what we need to focus on. i want to talk about his smile. i will never forgets it. i want to talk about his laugh. it is forever etched in my mind. >> from cia police to law enforcement on the eastern shore -- there were here to honor adrian a. morris. his casket slowly entered the church today draped in red white and blue. >> i'd love you as a brother. and i will always look up to you for guidance. >> family friend says the family is holding up as much as

evening for saving lives. it was on july 8 at about 80 miles per hour wind when a roof was ripped off of a building in fredericksburg. cheerleaders were practicing inside. the county sheriff's office will recognize parents, coaches athletes and deputies for their quick action. >> two people behind bars of the police said they tried to make methamphetamine in arlington. they went to monroe street for a domestic dispute. when they got there, they noticed items used to make for meth. several floors of the building were evacuated. once the building was deemed safe, everyone was like back inside. >and dance of 70,000 chickens. joshua broke in and shut off power to three chicken houses. they think he had been drinking. most of the chickens inside died without access to food, water or
fresh air. >> part of the bay bridge has reopened after a morning of inspections which caused quite a traffic nightmare. all traffic had to be shifted to one side during the entire morning commute. the rich doing routine maintenance a little after midnight when they said they felt the bridge moved slightly upward. they all left and an inspection began. trouble for metro to majors this morning things to some unscheduled track work on the blue and orange line. overnight inspections turned up spots between eastern market which needed adjusting. trend some contract for more than an hour. that did cause delays. service is now back to normal. and still to come, is she or isn't she? veterinarians are doing an ultrasound trying to find out if she is pregnant. >> and violence overseas and

and warm as well. temperatures in the 70s to start the day. about five to 10 degrees above average. you will feel them over the next couple hours. and it will last a couple of days. that is what you like about late august cold fronts. here is our time-lapse. the showers have passed. and some sun rays squeezing between the clouds early this morning. now just blew and our sky. just patchy clouds developing. we have 13 hours and 10 minutes of daylight today. that drops to 11 hours and 53 minutes, this time september on september 28. here is a look of our temperatures. reagan national, 86. to the west, detroit pittsburgh, all cooler. that is the cold front. and more importantly the
dreier, less humid air. the dew point indicates how much moisture is and the air. ours has already dropped to 68. and look it were the air is coming from, pittsburgh, 61. detroit, 55. that is comfortable there. and that is moving our way. you will feel the effect of the changes in the humidity. later on this evening and tomorrow and on into thursday. that is a look of the cold front. that caused some light rain earlier this morning. under a tent of an inch. -- .10 of an inch. there is tropical storm is it. you can see the center of circulation here. it is about 160 miles away from new orleans. it is only 4 miles an hour away
from being a category one hurricane. is just about a category one hurricane. it is going to track northward and a slowdown of the mississippi river. it will dump a lot of rain in the lower mississippi valley. some flooding, possibly 16 inches of rain along the alabama and louisiana coast line. by sunday and into monday, some of that monster may move our way and we will have the leftover -- some of that moisture will move our way and we will have some left over rain. into the seventies tonight. and tomorrow morning, most of us will be in the 60s to start the day. mode to mid 80s, low humidity not just tomorrow but into thursday. a chance of rain by sunday. >> thank you so much, adam.
